Our School

Srotoswini Subarnarekha started Sarda Siksha Niketan in 2024, after the closure of A.G.M Shishumahal in 2014. The school strives to provide a well-balanced curriculum for students belonging to underprivileged children at minimal cost following a scientific pedology which will strengthen the foundation of the students.

Srotoswini Subarnarekha’s committee decided to start the school after she noticed the lack of well-rounded educational opportunities for children of the lower strata. The school aims to prepare these children for the future not only by proving a strong base of fundamentals on top of developing their personalities through co-curricular and extra-curricular activities but also by providing individual attention and care in areas such as mental health which these children severely lack.

Methodolgy

  • Focus on both academics and non-academics:
    Well-balanced curriculum for students belonging to underprivileged children at minimal cost following a scientific pedology which will strengthen the foundation of the students.
  • Individual attention to each student:
    Place multiple teachers in the same class so that each student gets an opportunity for specialized care. Additionally, a diary is maintained for each student. Inside the diary, behaviour and habits of students is noted to discover patterns or issues and find solutions for them.
  • Class structure:
    The younger students are taught first while the older students listen. In this way, the older students revise the basic concepts all over again.
  • Multi-cultural Celebrations:
    Students have their birthday celebrated in both Indian way with lighting of diya (clay lamp) and in a more modern way with children singing happy birthday.

Daily schedule

School starts at 09:00 am and ends at 12:00 pm. During the 3 hours students study and depending on the day follow through with a multitude of activities.

  • 09:00 am – School starts.
  • 09:00 am to 10:00 am – the session is divided into parts
    • Sports
    • Freehand exercise
    • Yoga and pranayam
    • Concentration
    • Prayer
  • 10:00 am to 11:15 am – classes
    Students study math, English, Bengali & Hindi.
  • 11:15 am to 11:30 am – Lunch
  • 11:30 am to 12:00 pm – Co-curricula’s
    Either of the five: GK, Conversation practice, Rhymes and recitation, drawing or craft
  • 12:00 pm – School ends with National Anthem
  • 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm – Another sports session (for students to relax before going home)

We are trying to re-establish our school.

On 27th December 2021, our school A.G.M Shishumahal started in 2014 was forcefully closed by other parties involved.

Since then we have started a new school,
